NextPage's tom ngo named cto of the year by utah information technology association

Industry peers voted for annual award of top Utah CTO

Draper, Utah – March 31, 2005 – NextPage today announced that the Utah Information Technology Association (UITA) named Tom Ngo, NextPage’s chief technology officer (CTO), as CTO of the Year. Ngo was honored at the UITA annual members’ meeting today.

Ngo was voted as the CTO of the Year by his peers – the CTO forum of UITA. He has been serving as the co-chair of the CTO peer-to-peer forum since December 2003. UITA peer-to-peer forums are organized to bring CTOs together to discuss issues, challenges and opportunities for Utah’s high-tech companies. Last summer, Ngo was instrumental in bringing renowned business author Clayton Christensen to speak to UITA membership.

“Tom’s leadership with the CTOs and UITA is outstanding,” said Richard Nelson, president and CEO of UITA. “He was instrumental in the formation of the CTO peer-to-peer forum, and because of his drive to help CTOs excel, that group has been very successful.”

Ngo brings innovation and technical excellence to NextPage® products. He is responsible for directing and promoting the company’s technological vision. Prior to joining NextPage, he served as vice president of technology for netLens, Inc. He has also held a senior management position at Interval Research Corporation, the R&D organization funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Ngo was recently named to the 2005 vSpring Capital Top 100 Venture Entrepreneurs.

“It’s not surprising that Tom Ngo was named CTO of the Year by his UITA colleagues,” said Darren Lee, president and CEO of NextPage. “He has tremendous talents and abilities to take a business problem and find ways that technology can solve that business problem. The unique technology that NextPage delivers is a direct result of Tom’s efforts.”

Ngo was influential in helping NextPage launch a unique product this year called NextPage 1.5 Document Collaboration. This subscription service eliminates ad hocdocument chaos for millions of business professionals who use Microsoft® Office every day. NextPage 1.5 Document Collaboration provides users with real-time status and notifications about all documents on which they collaborate, providing control over the ad hoc processes that create the estimated 7.5 billion documents each year. Professionals can download a free 60-day trial of NextPage 1.5 Document Collaboration at www.nextpage.com/trial.

Teams and organizations rely on NextPage to prevent wasted time working on wrong document versions, reduce the risk of sending out incorrect information and deliver control to normally confusing ad hoc document processes. Since NextPage was established in July 1999, the company has been building profitable document applications. For more information, visit www.nextpage.com or call 801-748-4400.
