NextPage® Announces Day Three Results of Daily Survey with More Podcasts Available from 2006 ARMA International Conference and expo

Survey Shows Documents Continue to Pose Risks on Edge of Desktop despite Centralized Document Management Solutions

San Antonio, TX – October 25, 2006 – NextPage today announced the final results from a daily poll the company has conducted at the 2006 ARMA International Conference and Expo, held from October 22 – 25, on document retention and disposal issues. NextPage also announced the availability of several podcasts recorded with industry experts on the first and second day of the conference.

Day Three (Oct. 24) Results of Daily Poll

Yesterday’s poll included 29 respondents, or 1.5% of the show’s estimated 2000 attendees. Highlights of the results include:

59 percent of companies that participated in the poll have implemented a centralized solution to facilitate the retention and disposal of documents
72 percent of companies that participated in the poll said the primary driver for document retention was regulatory compliance
31 percent of companies that participated in the poll stated the next closest driver for document retention was document control/visibility (taking control of documents stored in multiple locations including desktops, laptops, email, or portable media)

“Although it is clear that the majority of companies surveyed have implemented centralized document management, the challenge is getting the documents into that kind of a system,” said Darren Lee, President and Chief Executive Officer, NextPage. “As much as 80 percent of these documents sit on the edge of the network – stored on desktops, individual hard drives, in email and removable drives — so while the documents are easy to manage and apply policy to once they make it to the centralized solution, the edge still poses a tremendous risk.”

Each day, NextPage administered a survey on document retention and deletion issues to show attendees. Each day’s survey included a unique set of questions. Full results of the daily poll can be accessed at www.nextpage.com/dailypoll.
